Concert Choir 2020 Announced

Thank you to all who auditioned for Concert Choir! There was a great talent pool from which to choose.

Congratulations to those selected for membership in Concert Choir 2020!

There will be 7 S1, 11 S2, 15 A, 10 T, 9 B1, 9 B2 for a total of 61 members. 33 SA, 28 TB. You should movement between sections to accommodate the music we perform. I am pleased with the blend and balance that these selected voices will achieve. You will received the Fall Concert Repertoire before you leave for the Summer. You will be expected to learn the Repertoire in advance of the first rehearsal in the Fall.

Your membership is conditional. You must end the year in good standing in the choir program, maintaining excellent attendance in all classes and maintaining passing grades in all classes.

Under no circumstances are you to engage in speculation about who or why anyone was selected, engage in negative social media activity, get involved in gossip or show an attitude that would reflect poorly on you, your peers, the choir program or Tigard High School. Failure to uphold your end of the contract that you and your parents signed will cause you to forfeit your membership in the choir.

Be proud of your selection on the inside. Be humble on the outside, demonstrate maturity and integrity as you interact with your peers. That is how we roll in the choir program at Tigard High School. Live it well!

Congratulations!

Mr. H

Donor has offered $5,000 in matching grant to replace Choir Room Piano!

Dear Choir Family,

We need to replace our choir room piano! We have a donor who offered up a $5,000 matching grant. The donor will match dollar for dollar up to $5,000. Already one person has come forward with a $200 gift for the match. If we can fill up the matching grant, we will have money to buy a replacement piano. We need to act quickly! The window for getting the piano we seek is short.

We have our eye on a 2006 Schimmel SP182 available through Classic Pianos. It just became available and is a rare and highly sought after piano, because it is a well built, piano from a company with a long, proven history of building stable and excellent pianos. This piano will last Tigard for 50 years!

Please consider helping toward this worthy and significant cause!

Please PM me or call me at 503-805-5392.

Thanks,

Mr. Hawthorne
