Our Homecoming Dance is this Saturday, October 5th, from 8 – 11 pm in the THS Cafeteria. This is our main fundraiser. We need all hands helping out!
Concert Choir members are expected to support in the execution of the event by participating in several of the following activities:
- Painting and creation of cafeteria signage and decorations during the week.
- Decorating and setting up the cafeteria on Saturday morning from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
- Helping with Coat Check shifts from 7:30 PM until 11:30 PM.
- Tearing down, 11:00 PM – until it is done (hopefully no later than 12:30 AM) of decorations and resetting the cafeteria to be operational on Monday Morning.
For those parents who have volunteered, THANK YOU!
Parents show up at 7 PM (updated) and will be assigned locations to work.
Bring Ear Plugs!
- 2 parents will be collecting AT THE DOOR payment for tickets ($15), checking school ID and writing down names of each student that arrives to purchase a ticket. NO AT THE DOOR tickets are sold to non-THS Students.
- Parents will be in pairs at the bathrooms, at the exit doors to make sure students do not let other students in, at the snack and water tables.
- All parents will assist in tear down in order to facilitate getting kids home as soon as possible.

Dear Choir Family,
We need to replace our choir room piano! We have a donor who offered up a $5,000 matching grant. The donor will match dollar for dollar up to $5,000. Already one person has come forward with a $200 gift for the match. If we can fill up the matching grant, we will have money to buy a replacement piano. We need to act quickly! The window for getting the piano we seek is short.
We have our eye on a 2006 Schimmel SP182 available through Classic Pianos. It just became available and is a rare and highly sought after piano, because it is a well built, piano from a company with a long, proven history of building stable and excellent pianos. This piano will last Tigard for 50 years!
Please consider helping toward this worthy and significant cause!
Please PM me or call me at 503-805-5392.

All but two of the choir members at Paradise and all but a handful of faculty lost their homes in the Campfire in Paradise, California. If you can help as an individual, family or friend of Tigard Choirs, please send:
Target and Safeway Gift cards in the amount of $25 or greater, marked on the card for easy clarification or,
Debit/Visa Cards of $25 or greater or,
Checks of any amount made payable to Tigard Choir to be bundled together and converted into gift cards or,
Cash of $1 or more that can be bundled to purchase gift cards.
Deadline is December 20th at the 7 pm Concert in the Auditorium. We will pass the hat for final contributions to benefit the Paradise High School Choir and Faculty. All contributions will be boxed up and sent on December 21st to Mr. Shawn Howell of Paradise High School for distribution to the families in need.
Let’s raise a ton of money for these needy families!
I have been blessed to be in touch with the choir director of Paradise High School. As you are aware from the news, Paradise was destroyed in the Camp Fire. Shawn Howell has a choir of 35. All but two lost their homes in the Camp Fire. Of the 50 faculty members, almost all lost their homes. Shawn fortunately lives outside of Paradise and was spared.
Shawn has suggested that gift cards to Target and Safeway would really help.
There is no postal service to Paradise right now. Would you consider sending gift cards to: Robert Hawthorne c/o Tigard High School, 9000 SW Durham Road, Tigard, OR 97224. Or, bring gift cards or cash to the December 20th Choir Concert at Deb Fennell Auditorium. Consider cards of $25, $50, $75, or $100 or more. Any cash given in any amount will be converted into gift cards.
We will forward all the cards from you and our benefit concert on December 20th to the Paradise High School Choir Director Shawn Howell to distribute to the choir and faculty members in need.
Pass the word to friends, colleagues, businesses, business partners and family.
Let’s raise a massive amount of money! Blessings!

Regarding re-auditioning for Concert Choir this Fall: Because all current Concert Choir students have gotten their schedules and been able to retain membership, I am not holding additional auditions for Concert Choir for the coming year, with the exception of transfer students who are actively enrolling for the new academic year.
Hear is to a fantastic 2017-2018 Season!
